SURREY, BC — Imagine Surrey and mayoral candidate Mike Starchuk are calling on Linda Annis to release the City’s full record of the May dog attack involving her dog, reported by Global News on Sunday after a months-long freedom of information fight. In January, Annis told Global News that dogs that maul other animals “should be taken to task.”

Statement from Mike Starchuk:

“Councillor and Surrey First Mayoral candidate Linda Annis asked another dog owner to step up in January. Four months later it was her dog, and Surrey had to find out from a freedom of information request. That is the second FOI on Councillor Annis this year, after her texts to the police chief about drunk-driving checks outside the golf course in her neighbourhood, and she still won’t talk about her party’s Elections BC fine. Release the records. Answer the questions. The rules she votes on apply to her too.”

Surrey shouldn’t need a freedom of information request to find out what its councillor has been up to. What will the next one show?
