SURREY, BC — In an extraordinary admission at the CKNW Surrey Mayoral debate, Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke blurted out, “I knew that they had an important meeting” in the lead up to the firing of Norm Lipinski. Her admission comes after Mike Starchuk revealed at the debate that one of the newest Surrey Police Board members was overheard at a public gathering, “something big is going to happen on Monday, I just can’t tell you what it is.” One of Brenda Locke’s city councillors, Rob Stutt, serves on the Surrey Police Board and has a vote on this matter.
First, she said she had no idea about the firing of Norm Lipinski. Now, Brenda is backtracking and admitting that she knew more than she initially said. In Mr. Lipinski’s court petition, the allegations against the Mayor are serious and demand answers. Ms. Locke’s
Mike Starchuk is asking Brenda Locke to explain what she knew, who told her, and how she was aware that an “important” meeting was taking place before the former Chief of Police, who was fired at that meeting.
