SURREY, BC — Bruce Ralston, who represented Surrey-Whalley in the Legislature for 19 years and served in the BC cabinet from 2017 to 2024, has endorsed Mike Starchuk for Mayor of Surrey.
“Mike Starchuk has long served the people of Surrey with hard work and a big heart,” said Ralston. “He will be a great Mayor of Surrey.”
“Bruce and I served together in Victoria for four years, and I saw how hard he worked for this city,” said Starchuk. “He’s given Surrey decades at City Hall, in the Legislature, and at the cabinet table, so his support means a great deal to me. This October, put out the fire at City Hall and elect a team that delivers change that works for you.”
Bruce Ralston served two terms on Surrey City Council from 1988 to 1993 and represented Surrey-Whalley in the Legislature from 2005 to 2024, winning five straight elections. In cabinet he served as Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, and Minister of Forests. He raised his family in Whalley.
